Natural Rosacea Treatments

Rosacea is a common skin disease that causes redness and swelling on the face and is often characterized by flare-ups followed by periods of remission. Redness and tiny pimples often occur on the cheeks, nose, chin, or forehead. In severe cases, excess tissue can cause the nose to appear swollen and bumpy. Small visible blood vessels may appear on the face and rosacea may also cause eye irritation. Rosacea usually begins after age 30. The exact cause is still unknown.

In TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) pathology, it is thought that there is excessive heat (toxins) accumulated in the lungs, liver, and stomach channels which can flare up showing symptoms on the face. Therefore, external treatment with a cream is not sufficient. The better approach is to detoxify your body because it then expels the toxins from inside and prevents the problems from coming back. *

Dr. Li's rosacea treatment solution will completely rid you of rosacea without any side effects. All Merry Clinic products are MADE in USA. *

Testimonials from our patients

I wanted to try a natural way rather than antibiotics to rid myself of Rosacea. It took the one round of facial cream, sea salt soap and 2 rounds of Acneed (6 bottles), but it completely cured the redness and the "pimples". I have not had a break out in 2 months. I still use the facial cream and soap. I am ordering another 3 bottles of Acneed, just to be safe. THANK YOU, Dr. Li! **

Rosacea Treatment Tips

Diet Restriction: To avoid further aggravating rosacea, you need to eliminate certain foods which might generate toxins inside your body. These foods include: alcohol, coffee, spicy food, lamb, mango, pineapple, chocolate, sugar and greasy food, etc.
Avoid Over-washing: Excessive scrubbing and washing can leave skin dry and rosacea-prone areas irritated. Habitual over-washing may also stimulate extra oil production, which could result in more breakouts.
Sun Protection: Avoid over-exposure to the sun. Always use sunblock when staying outside.

Return Policy

If for any reason you decide to discontinue taking the Acneed Capsules, simply return the unopened bottles within 45 days of purchase. You will be refunded the cost of the unopened bottles. Shipping and handling charges cannot be refunded. For more detail, please go to return policy.

Controlling Rosacea - Understanding Your Treatment Options

Rosacea is an incurable condition that results in red patches on the face that resemble acne. Symptoms may show up on the cheeks, chin, nose or forehead, or can take the form of visible blood vessels or pimples and bumps anywhere on the face. For some, the condition can become so severe that it causes significant problems in their daily lives due to how noticeable the condition can be to others.

Understanding Rosacea

Many people who have rosacea tend to go undiagnosed due to thinking that they simply have sensitive skin or tend to blush or flush more easily. Still others mistakenly believe that they have acne. However, the condition is not something that a person can outgrow, and it will get worse if it is not treated or controlled over time.
While the actual cause of rosacea, which is not contagious or infectious, is not known, it is believed that the condition starts with a genetic abnormality that lessens the ability of the body to control facial inflammation. The condition is often aggravated by repeated episodes of blushing or flushing, which can make the blood vessels in the face more noticeable. Additionally, as flare-ups continue, it can lead to the bumps that resemble acne on the chin, cheeks and forehead. It is this level of inflammation that often leads sufferers to believe they are simply dealing with a pimple outbreak.
Rosacea typically affects those who have light or fair skin and that are between the ages of 30 to 50 years of age. While the condition is seen much more often in women, it is common in men, who generally have much more severe cases of the condition. Some of the most common risk factors are being of Scottish, Irish or English descent, a family history of rosacea, blushing easily, having fair skin and going through menopause.

Rosacea Triggers

While the cause of rosacea is unknown, researchers have determined that there are triggers that can cause flares:

  • Frequent or easy blushing
  • Certain prescription medications
  • Embarrassment, fear, anxiety and/or stress
  • Exposure to the sun or heat
  • Strong or brisk wind
  • Spicy foods
  • Alcohol

Rosacea Symptoms

In order to consider rosacea treatment, it is important to understand the symptoms. Rosacea flares, which occur when the symptoms increase, may happen within a few days of each other, or may not recur for years. However, when they do occur, they include the following:

  • Flushing or blushing
  • Reddening of the skin in the cheeks, chin, nose and forehead
  • A burning sensation on the skin
  • Red, bumpy areas
  • Cysts and small, pimple-like sores in the later stages

In the early stages of the condition, the flushing and redness may appear only for a short period, go away and then return. However, over time, the flares will increase and become worse if left untreated. It is also important to understand that the diagnosis of the condition could require scrapings or a biopsy to rule out herpes and staph infections or Demodex infestations, which are a type of skin mite.
In the early stages, rosacea may resemble other skin conditions, including:

  • Lupus
  • Eczema
  • Impetigo
  • Allergies
  • Reaction to medications
  • Contact or allergic dermatitis
  • Seborrheic dermatitis
  • Carcinoid syndrome

In the later stages, rosacea can cause large bumps and lesions on the nose and cheeks, and well as puffy, raised skin. This is often seen more often in men, and can require surgery in order to address and control the condition. Rosacea can also affect the eyes and damage the vision when it becomes more advanced, making it important to seek treatment in the earlier stages.

Rosacea Treatment

There are several different options available when it comes to rosacea treatment. Some patients choose not to use prescribed treatments in the early stages if the condition is not bothersome, but failing to do so can result in it worsening over time. Some of the most popular treatment options include:

  • Topical Medications – Topical medications are applied directly to the affected skin. There are antibiotic ointments that are applied after cleansing, as well as creams that contain azelaic acid. Those with severe or resistant flares may be prescribed both types of medication in order to control redness and the associated bumps. Some doctors may also prescribe corticosteroid creams in cases of severe inflammation.
  • Oral Antibiotics – Those with moderate rosacea may be prescribed oral antibiotics to help reduce the pimples and inflammation. These types of rosacea treatments can have significant side effects, so it is important to follow all doctor recommendations.
  • Laser Treatments – Some patients also undergo laser treatments to help get rid of the redness and blood vessels. Laser treatment can cause discomfort and requires multiple treatments to see results.
